COVID-19 Information
Exposure Guidelines:
Please email millere4@georgetownisd.org with the date of exposure and that you are quaranting so that documentation and attendance will be up to date.
- Out-of-Home Exposure (does not live under safe roof)
- Per CDC recommendations, quarantine for 10 days and monitor for symptoms. If no symptoms arise, may return on day 11 without testing.
- May return on day 8 if student has had a PCR test no sooner than day 5 after exposure, has tested negative, and no one in the home has developed symptoms and/or tested positive.
- In-Home (lives under same roof)
- If a member of your family has tested positive for COVID, per CDC guidelines, 14 day quarantine is recommended with return on day 15 as long as your student is well, without symptoms, and has not tested positive for COVID. In the event your student tests positive, please update Nurse Courtney so that she can adjust your student’s timeline. Student’s may return to school 10 days after symptom onset and a positive test result has occurred.
Testing:
Please note, GISD only accepts the following tests:
- PCR
- Free PCR testing site: https://curative.com/
- Pro-Lab Diagnostics in Round Rock: https://info.pro-lab-direct.com/en/portal
- Viral RNA
- Rapid Antigen-NOT ACCEPTEDWITHOUT AN ACCOMPANYING DOCTOR’S NOTE RULING OUT COVID due to high incidence of false negatives.
- Home test kits: A NEGATIVE home test isNOT ACCEPTED. Home tests are ONLY ACCEPTED in the presence of a positive In the event of a positive home test, please send a picture of the test with your student’s name and date of birth on or next to the test supplies.
Please always ask your test site before taking the COVID test to make sure it is a PCR test or Viral RNA. We have seen many antigen test results from clinics and antigen is NOT accepted without a doctor’s note clearing the student. We would have to ask for a retest if the wrong test is performed on the student.
Positive:
- If your student has tested positive, please send a copy of the test result and state the day the symptoms started to millere4@georgetownisd.org. Your student may return to campus on day 11 after the 10 day quarantine has been met. If no symptoms occurred, student may return to school 10 days after the test date (on day 11).
- If a member of your family has tested positive for COVID, per CDC guidelines, 14 day quarantine is recommended for all GISD students with return on day 15 as long as your student is well, without symptoms, and has not tested positive for COVID. In the event your student tests positive, please update Nurse Erika so that she can adjust your student’s timeline. Student’s may return to school 10 days after symptom onset and/or a positive test result has occurred.
