Welcome to Speech Services at Ford Elementary!

Speech service are designed to meet the individual needs of each learner. Instruction is delivered in small group settings focusing on individual goals for each learner.

Special Education services are available to eligible children within the Georgetown Independent School District. The student must be between the ages of 3 and 21 with a documented handicap and an educational need that requires special education. Children with visual and/or auditory impairments may be eligible at birth. A variety of placement options are available if found eligible after a full and individual evaluation. For children ages 3-5 or placed in a private or home school, please contact Candice Mills, (512) 943-5000 ext 6099, to set up a meeting. For school-aged students attending a GISD school, contact the campus Counselor.

Hi, my name is Mrs. Watts and I serve the students at Ford Elementary who have speech and language needs. I have worked in education for over 20 years, and my 14th year as a speech language pathologist. I have a bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Hook'em Horns! I began my teaching career teaching special education in Harlingen ISD. I then taught special education, for five years, in Judson ISD in San Antonio. After a few years in the classroom, working with students with significant language needs, I decided to go back to school to obtain my Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Woman's University. I am so excited about being able to serve at Ford Elementary, the community, staff, and the students of this school make it easy to be proud to be a Ford Mustang! I am passionate about helping students communicate more clearly and with more confidence. If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
