Hi, I am Makenzie Keyser! This is my third year in education and my first year teaching at Ford Elementary! Previously, I taught First Grade in Little Rock, Arkansas.
I grew up in Cedar Park, Texas, and attended Round Rock High School. I graduated from Texas State University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Arkansas for two years. I am SO happy to be back in Central Texas and near my family again! I have two wonderful parents, an older sister who teaches high school, and a younger sister who is attending the University of Texas. I also have two nephews aged 8 and 5. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and cat (Ares), going to concerts, and reading. I will also be coaching an 11U Volleyball team with my younger sister this year!
I am thrilled to be teaching 4th grade! I believe that children are the heart of our community, and I am dedicated to creating a thoughtful, safe, and engaging classroom. I am looking forward to an amazing year!

Hello! My name is Holly Shafer, and I am very excited to be your student's 4th grade math and science teacher! This will be my 11th year in education, and my 2nd year teaching at Ford Elementary! I taught third grade last year, and I am looking forward to moving up to fourth grade this school year! We are going to have a wonderful year full of new friends, new adventures, and new discoveries. I grew up in Jarrell, Texas. After high school, I moved to Belton to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2010. My husband and I currently live in Salado. We have 4 dogs (Zoe, Jax, Milo, and Sasha) and 2 cats (Callie and Mav). I also have a classroom gerbil named Theodore. My goal as an educator is to make a difference. I believe that students need meaningful experiences that apply to their daily lives. This includes a learner-centered classroom with hands-on activities, opportunities for verbal discourse, and a safe environment designed to engage, challenge, and inspire students to participate in higher-level learning and problem solving.

Hi! I’m Ms. Wyatt and this is my ninth year at Ford Elementary. I LOVE teaching 4th Grade with my AWESOME TEAM! I teach Math & Science.
I have two children and three dogs. My son, Chris, is a commander in the US Marine Corps where he has PROUDLY served our country for 21 years. He served in two Iraq deployments, which were very scary for this momma. He gave me a WONDERFUL daughter-in-law, Krista, and three PRECIOUS granddaughters, Kenli-13, Kaybri-11, and Kiptyn-6 to CHERISH. And I really, really do CHERISH those BEAUTIFUL SOULS. My daughter, Katie, is a city code enforcer and full-time student. She is a Senior at Sam Houston State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. I am BEYOND PROUD of these two kids! Kaiser is my 100 lb mix breed which sees herself as a small lap dog. She began as one of our fosters from WCRAS. We adopted Zoey, a 6 lb Pomeranian from Recycled Poms of Dallas. She was rescued from an Amish puppy mill. And our third dog, Tucker, also started as a foster but was quickly adopted into our family.
My daughter and I FOSTER hospice, senior, and medical needs dogs for WILLIAMSON COUNTY REGIONAL ANIMAL SHELTER and AUSTIN BULLDOG RESCUE. We have devoted nine years to healing sick and broken dogs so they can become LOVED family members. To date, we have had 50 foster dogs in our home. I truly LOVE being a part of this wonderful group of selfless people. In addition, I began volunteering and fostering for ALL THINGS WILD this summer. We fostered two bottle baby raccoons for five weeks. SO MUCH FUN!!
In addition to teaching my subjects, I also teach my students to RESPECT others, animals, nature, and our wonderful COUNTRY. I think it is EXTREMELY important to teach COMPASSION AND EMPATHY toward all creatures.
I look forward to getting to know my kids and their families this year!
